Manufacturer Defects in Eyewear

All eyewear is carefully inspected before shipping. While defects are rare, it’s important to know what qualifies as a true manufacturer defect versus what can be corrected with a normal adjustment.

Common Manufacturer Defects

These issues should not occur and are considered true defects if present at delivery:

  • Scratched or damaged lenses present immediately upon receipt.
  • Missing parts such as screws, decorative logos, or hinge components.
  • Lost or missing nose pad(s) on frames with adjustable metal nose pads.
  • Discoloration or peeling of the frame surface, paint, or metal detailing.
  • Loose or unstable hinges that cannot be corrected by tightening screws.
  • Assembly defects such as misaligned lenses, uneven temples, or structural issues that cannot be fixed through standard adjustment.

Not a Defect

Slight misalignment in plastic (acetate) frames.

  • Acetate frames are hand-assembled, so minor unevenness in temples or bridge alignment is normal.
  • These can be corrected quickly with a simple adjustment and do not indicate poor quality.

Important Note for Buyers

To ensure proper handling of any defect claim:

  1. Inspect merchandise immediately upon delivery.
  2. Notify us within 7 days of receipt if a manufacturer defect is found.
    • Include photos or a description of the defect when submitting your claim.
  3. Claims made after 7 days may not qualify for replacement or return.

Reminder:
Minor adjustments are a normal part of eyewear handling. Only the issues listed under Common Manufacturer Defects qualify as true defects.
